J&K has no ‘MY Bharat youth volunteers’ deployment: Centre | KNO

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on Monday informed the Lok Sabha that no ‘MY Bharat Youth Volunteers’ are currently deployed in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. As per the state and UT-wise data shared in Parliament, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) have reported zero volunteers under the National Youth Corps (NYC) scheme at present. The total deployment across the country stands at 3,058 volunteers. The Ministry said the deployment of 8,395 new volunteers is underway across 26 States and UTs which is expected to expand the scheme’s reach nationwide. However, no specific deployment numbers for J&K were mentioned in the ongoing expansion plan. The government added that the scheme includes induction training, refresher courses, supervision by district-level officers and structured monitoring mechanisms, applicable uniformly across all States and UTs. The information was shared in response to a question regarding deployment status, training, supervision and future programme interventions under the National Youth Corps Scheme—(KNO)
